Sign a PDF
Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, type it, or upload an image — then place, resize and rotate it anywhere on the page.
Free · no sign-up · your file never leaves your device
Signing is the moment people most often stop and think about where their document is going. A signed contract, tenancy agreement or offer letter contains your name, your signature and usually your address — exactly the material you should be reluctant to upload to a free web service.
Signatures you make here are saved in this browser alone, so the second document you sign takes a single click — and nothing about the transaction leaves the machine you are sitting at.
How to sign a PDF
Three steps, and nothing to install.
Create your signature
Choose Sign in the toolbar, then draw with your mouse, trackpad or finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo or scan of your real signature.
Place it on the page
Click where it belongs. Drag to move, pull the corners to resize, and use the round handle to rotate if the line on the form is not quite straight.
Export the signed PDF
Press Export PDF. If you ticked save, your signature is remembered on this device for next time — one click on future documents.
What makes this one different
Three ways to sign
Draw freehand, type in a handwriting face, or upload an image of your real signature. Transparent PNGs sit cleanly over ruled lines.
Reusable, but only here
Saved signatures live in your own browser’s storage, never on a server, and can be deleted from the signature dialog whenever you like.
Fill the form while you are there
Most documents that need signing also need dates, names and ticked boxes. Text, checkbox and date tools are in the same toolbar.
Lock it afterwards
Add a password and disable editing before you send the signed file, so the recipient receives a document that cannot be quietly altered.
Questions
The things people ask most about this tool.
Is a signature added this way legally valid?
In many countries a typed or drawn electronic signature is accepted for ordinary agreements, but rules vary by jurisdiction and document type. For anything high-stakes, check what your recipient or local law requires. PeppyPDF adds a visible signature image, not a cryptographic digital signature certificate.
Where are my saved signatures stored?
In your browser’s local storage on this device only. They are never transmitted, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Can I sign on a phone or tablet?
Yes, and it is the nicest way to do it — drawing with a finger or stylus on a touchscreen produces a much more natural signature than a mouse.
How do I make my uploaded signature look clean?
Use a PNG with a transparent background if you have one. Photograph your signature on white paper in good light, then remove the background before uploading for the sharpest result.
Can I add a date next to my signature?
Yes. Use the Add text tool to type the date wherever the form asks for it, or add a date field if you are building a form for others to fill.
