How to split a PDF

Open the document
Drag your PDF onto the page. Every page appears in the sidebar so you can see exactly what you are working with.
Choose how to cut it
Open Tools → Split PDF and pick one of four modes: every page as its own file, every N pages, custom ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10, or extract a selection into one new document.
Download the pieces
A single output downloads as a PDF; several outputs arrive together as a ZIP, named after the ranges they contain.

The things people ask most about this tool.
How do I write a page range?
Use plain numbers separated by commas, with hyphens for spans — for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each comma-separated group becomes its own output file in ranges mode.
Can I split a PDF without downloading a ZIP?
Yes. If your split produces a single output file, it downloads as a normal PDF. ZIP is only used when there are several files to deliver at once.
Does splitting change the remaining pages?
No. Pages are copied into the new documents unchanged, and your original file on disk is never modified.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Yes, provided you can open it. Enter the password when the file loads and the split outputs are written without protection unless you add a new password yourself.
Is there a page limit?
No. Splitting runs on your own hardware, so the only constraint is your device’s memory.
